Fascination

It was first time to visit Okinawa. 

I wondered why so many people are fascinated. 

But I understood right away. Because I was really 

fascinated as well. There were good encounters

during this trip. 

I hope those would be continue until when I visit again.

Wedding Party

I went to Nagoya to attend friend's wedding party. 

He always smiles so much but I saw he shed tears 

for the first time. I was impressed. And my ex coworker 

gathered for this party so it was like a reunion party. 

Really fun time!!

Vacation

I had paid holiday about 10 days since I started to work.

The purpose was to invite my mother and to go to vacation.
My current visa and contract will expire next April. I don’t know until
when I can continue to stay here. So I thought it’s good chance.
Finally my mother and her friend came and went together.

It’s too enough to stay only at London for 10 days, I recommended
to go to Italy. I went before and it was so beautiful even winter season.
I’ve been thinking to visit again. Even for me it was long awaited event. 
I planed all schedule to research hotel, place, book flight like tour guide.
It was little bit heavy but really fun and enjoyed to spend time with them.
Italy in summer was exactly amazing. Of course London too.

If I didn’t decided to come here, may be we wouldn’t have a chance to
visit there. I hope change of my life would be good influence for my
important persons. I think so.

Ａs an aside, I took big Japanese rice cracker box which was brought
by my mother as a souvenir to my coworker. They really loved so much.
It disappeared within 15 minutes!

パリ

先週末にパリに行ってきました。

パリへは電車で2時間なので、とても気軽に行くことができます。
今回の目的はドイツで働いているKさんとの再会です。自分も働き
始めて早5ヶ月経ち、落ち着いてきたのでドイツとイギリスの中間の
パリで再会しようということになりました。

この時期のパリはすでに真夏のような気候で、天気にも恵まれて
エッフェル塔登ったりエスカルゴ食べたりと、のんびりとした時間を
過ごしました。以前のブログでも書いたようにKさんとは2008年の
ロサンゼルスでのシーグラフで行動を共にしたわけですが、それを
経て今回に至ることを考えると本当に感慨深い気持ちでいっぱい 

でした。とてもすばらしい再会となりました。

そういえばロンドンに戻ってきた時に不思議と帰ってきたなぁという 

安心感みたいなものを感じて、知らないうちにロンドンにも愛着が
沸いてきたんだなーとしみじみ思いました。

　

Backpack Journey

I traveled Netherlands and Belgium for one week with my friend.
Though the aim of Journey was to escape from cold London, these
countries were colder than London... But it were so beautiful cities.

We had to save money. went by coach, stayed hostel, walked
as much as possible, like a my university student age’s journey.
My friend who traveled with me was Colombian guy. So during
journey, I found a lot of difference of sense of values from him,
time, food, money, planning, etc... Though we didn’t stay deluxe
hotel and eat delicious food, the journey was valuable for me.

And more pleasure for me was to visit Rietveld Schröder House.
The house is master piece of Rietveld. I really wanted to visit that.

And yet, There were a lot of snow, and everyday was below freezing.
If I had a chance to visit again, I would like to visit summer season!!

久々の日本語です。

ブログの背景に使っている写真には実はとても思い入れがあります。
これは2008年のアメリカ旅行の時のサンタモニカビーチでの写真です。
初のSIGGRAPH参戦でロスの安ホテルのロビーで徹夜してデモリールを
作り挑んだもののあえなく惨敗でしたが、色々と思い出深い旅行でした。

その時に一緒に行動を共にしたのがKさんでした。
自分に影響を与えてくれる人、同じ方向を向いて共感し合える人の

存在はとても貴重ですが、Kさんは自分にとってまさにそういう人です。

 
今の自分がこんな決断をするに至ったのも、本気で海外を目指していた
Kさんからの影響が大きいと思います。いままでもたくさんの人達から
多くの影響を受けてきた事を考えると、自分はほんとうに周りの人達に
恵まれていたんだなあと思います。

このSIGGRAPHを通して海外のスケールを体感し、漠然としたイメージ

でしかなかった海外で働くということを本気で考えるようになりました。
そしてサンタモニカのスタジオ見学の際に訪れたこの海岸で、ふるえる

思いで心の底から絶対ここに戻ってくるぞと自分に誓いました。
そんな思い出の場所なのでいつかまた訪れる事ができたらと思っています。

そしてそんなKさんがついに海外へのキップを手に入れたそうです。
ほんとうに自分のことのように嬉しいです。おめでとうございます！
気をつけて行ってきてください。いつか必ず自分も合流します！

　

AEROFLOT

今回ロンドンまでお世話になった航空会社。

安かったので即決した後にネットで調べたら、驚くほどの悪評の数々。
異常に高い荷物盗難率...まずい食事...ボロい機体...サービス最悪など。

荷物の盗難だけは勘弁とスーツケースをガムテープでぐるぐる巻きにし
さらにサランラップでコーティングして不安いっぱいで出発したわりに、

きれいな機体に充実したサービス、普通においしい食事にもありつけて
拍子抜けするくらい快適な旅でした。USB電源まであるなんて！

単身渡英

海外で働きたいという思いを実現するために考えた末の選択。

仕事どころか住む家さえも決まってない状態からのスタートなんて
客観的に考えるとかなり無謀にも思えるけど、人生に一度くらいは
こんなチャレンジをしてみてもいいかなと。

特別な才能があるわけでもないし、どうなるか正直わかりませんが
やると決めたからには明るい未来に向かって頑張るのみです！
